Monthly Majors 1/22 | XVII - The Star
February 2025 | Exploring the meaning of The Star card through the writings of A.E. Waite, Paul Foster Case and more
This month on Stretch Tarot we are exploring card XVII, The Star. We began last week with personal insights and now continue the journey by digging into the writings of A.E. Waite, Paul Foster Case and others.
Like my visual work, the Monthly Majors series is a collage of quotes and ideas from different sources designed to help you connect more deeply with the Tarot. The meanings provided here are not definitive but are intended as a springboard for your own intuition and insight. I’d love to hear what you think about this card in the comments or in my subscriber chat.
So, grab your Tarot journal to make notes, and let’s get started.
XVII - The Star
A woman gazes into a rippling pool of water while dazzling stars shine overhead. In each of her hands she holds a vessel from which she pours more water. One vessel is being emptied onto the earth, the other into the pool.
This card invites us to think about the unconscious mind. It is about the ways in which we might access or connect more deeply with the personal and collective unconscious, and how this can shape our reality.
These ideas are communicated through the key symbolism: the water, the woman, and the stars.
